Sickness

Caden has come down with a bilateral kidney infection. Last night she was complaining that her side hurt her, and was running a 104 degree temperature. Her mother took her to children's in little rock and they've been running tests all night to find out that her kidneys have an infection. The most likely cause is because she had the flu about a week ago. Needless to say I'm going to go to LR and stay with her this afternoon till around 9:00 and then head back home. I'd stay the night but I've got class tomorrow. Fun stuff.

I hope the IV drip helps to remove the infection. We don't need anymore problems; Caden doesn't need to miss anymore school.

*sigh*

Well, I just spent another 5 hours wasting my time. I can't get the hang of this pointer shit in computer science II. I should have been going to class since the beginning, but made the mistake of not doing so. Now I guess I have to suffer the consequences.

Tomorrow I guess I'll try to find a tutor. I can't accept a failure, especially when I know I can do this.

Another day ending, another day beginning.

Carpe Diem

Procrastination - The Illogical Delay of Behavior

I just completed writing a rough draft for an assignment in composition II. It's a paper on procrastination; something I have experienced many times throughout my school/college career. In writing the paper I'm hoping to find some tips to overcome my procrastination, as well as tell others about it.

Here's a quick run-through of how to avoid procrastination.

- Organization. Being thoroughly organized can help drastically reduce procrastination.
- Make the activity you are trying to accomplish fun, invite a friend along for the ride!
- Make a plan of action for your more difficult tasks.

Recently I've started to be more organized and have found that it can help. The next thing I'm going to implement is making a plan of action for my tasks. Tomorrow I'm going to wake up, relax, eat lunch, and jump into coding a project for my computer science class. I've got to teach myself the materials in order to complete the assignment, so this should be fun.

I think the last way to avoid procrastination will come in handy tomorrow, so I'm going to make up a plan of action to take while performing the task. First gotta read up on the chapter it involves, then write out exactly what it is I need to code, and finally start coding.

Wish me luck!

Nothing Much

Although there isn't much going on, I figured I'd post just to keep myself in the habit of posting.

Yesterday was fun, I worked out some with my KPED class and it was interesting. We made a fun time out of it. Of course, after working out I felt tired, but I slept so well last night it was great. I'm loving this working out thing, it really makes me feel energetic compared to what I usually feel when I don't work out.

Aside from that, I'm trying to turn over a new leaf. Recently I've been slacking off going to my computer science class. However, after bombing a test the other day, I've found that I can't get by with just skinned knees this time around. It's not like last semester where an easy 100 would come with no studying. I'm figuring out the ways of college, and it's coming down to study, study, study.

Right now I'm just looking at the future, the more I study, the more free time I get to do stuff in the future. Hopefully, with the intense studying, will come a grand lifestyle. I guess we'll see. Recently I've been told of two occasions where computer software engineers are making at least 70,000 in north east Arkansas. If this is what I have to look forward too then I'm ecstatic. If CSE's can make 70,000 in Arkansas, I can only imagine what I can do in Georgia; where I'd like to move upon graduation.

Well, that's all for now, gotta start studying so I can get my computer science grade up there. Hope you enjoyed the read, more to come later.

New Banner

I made a new banner for my blog, I think it offers a more aesthetically pleasing view. :)

Wow

I always thought I'd use this blog throughout my school career. However, I've seemed to of lost track of it. Although this is the case, I might find myself around more often.

I think it'd be nice to use this blog, I just keep finding myself forgetting or putting aside posting on it. As you can see, it's been almost a year since my previous post, time sure does fly.

I'm now in my second semester of college. I had been slacking off going to my Comp.Sci.II class, but the way things are looking I could probably benefit from the experience. I went today and I actually rather enjoyed myself. I learned a whole lot and now feel more caught up. I'm going to make it a regular thing and go everyday.

Last semester I could get by with just the Labs, but this semester is proving to be more difficult.

KPED is interesting, I work out now. Working out really makes me feel alive, it gives me energy and allows me to sleep better at night. I've actually been remembering my dreams since I started working out, funny how things go.

Looking outside it looks like it is about to pour, the rain clouds are slowly rolling in. Wednesday is valentines day, I hope Caden loves her gift.
